CLLR CHARLI THOMPSON
Hi, I’m Charli Thompson your Green Party councillor for Woodhouse Ward.
I am a lifelong Barnet resident, a community campaigner and disability rights advocate. I have spent years working with local residents and grassroots campaigns on issues including adult social care, planning, communuity cohesion, saving public services and democratic participation.
I was elected on a promise to challenge politics as usual, strengthen transparency and scrutiny at Barnet Council, and build a more caring, participatory and community-led approach to local government.
As a disabled person and carer, I bring both lived and learned experience to my work and I am particularly passionate about tackling unmet community need, improving accessibility and ensuring all communities have a stronger voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO LOCAL POLITICS
This website is designed to be more than a noticeboard, with politics done to you. Instead, I want you to help shape local solutions.
Too often, local politics becomes reactive, dealing with problems only once they reach crisis point. The aim here is to identify recurring issues, connect with neighbours and build community-led solutions wherever possible.
I don’t like the culture of politicians just turning up for a photo opportunity, or using residents to gets votes, then not following through on their promises. This has to stop.
Whether it’s safer streets, accessibility, planning, housing, green spaces or protecting local services, local knowledge and community involvement matter. I am here to listen and act on your behalf, but together we can achieve so much more.
